Viola sororaria ‘Freckles’ (Violet). This species is a herbaceous perennial with ovate to rounded, scalloped leaves. The flowers are borne in the spring and summer with short spurs with white, purple, blue speckled and streaked blooms.


They are fully to half hardy and should be grown in the sun or shade in well drained but moisture retentive soil; a few species prefer acid soil. They will appreciate shelter from the drying winds.
