Pachyphragma macrophyllum

For sale by Rachel the Gardener

This grower is sure of this plant identification.

A much under-used and under-rated plant, rarely found for sale but deserving of wider use: low mounds of rounded, ruffled green leaves through most of the year, then in spring, a sudden starburst of brilliant white flowers, held in pom-poms on stiff stems about a foot high.

Ideal for woodland beds, for underplanting, for a splash of light at a dull time of the year.

Often described as having a sour smell, but I can't say I'd noticed it. Will slowly spread to become a good weed-suppressor.
