Japanese shield fern, Fern
Dryopteris erythrosora (Japanese shield fern). Native to eastern Asia, this fern produces new fronds that range from copper to very bright red. As the fronds age they become glossy green. A mature fern reaches 45cm, spreading to 30cm. Remove fading fronds regularly.
They are fully to half hardy and will require shade and moist soil. Regularly remove fading fronds.
