One of the finest of all ferns forming a large single crown of tall fronds. These black haired crosiers emerge from a black crown looking rather like a large hairy spider sat in the centre of the plant. An old specimen may attain 89cm in height and spread. Thrives in part shade and moist soil where it is not disturbed. Award of Garden Merit.
