The hardiest of all bananas. Large green leaves up to 6ft in length when mature. It will produce one a week during the summer if kept well watered!

Musa basjoo (Japanese banana). A palm-like, arching, evergreen perennial from Japan. Bears lance-shaped to oblong, medium green leaves and spikes of yellow-cream flowers.
Some of these species can be cultivated as house plants or in greenhouses. They will require fertile, moist soil and full sun. You will need to protect from winds.
Grown for their foliage, flowers and fruits (bananas), not all of which are edible.
