This grower is sure of this plant identification.

Golden sieboldiana hybrid. Leaves emerge light green but the sun soon changes them to to a deep gold that holds well all season. Good texture and a heavy substance. Flowers very pale lavender. Clump to 80cm or so wide. Best in the ground in a sunny, but not bone dry, spot.

Hosta ‘August Moon’ (Funkia). In early summer, racemes of bell-shaped, grey-purple flowers grow amidst foliage of oval, soft leaves that emerge light green but turn more golden through summer and have a faint, blue bloom.


Needs semi-shade.

Interest and use

Grown for their decorative foliage. Form large clumps that are excellent for ground cover. Attracts humming birds in suitable geographical locations.
