Erect bushy shrub with wonderful burnt orange flowers held in spikes like a foxglove. Comes from the Canary Islands and so needs protection from severe frost. Height 1m.
Isoplexis canariensis. This is showy species. It is an upright shrub which will grow to about 1.5m tall with a similar spread as it matures. The leaves are long and narrow almost leathery and slightly felty in texture. The flowers are produced in spikes of flared tubular blooms, mainly in the summer, and come in shades of orange-yellow through to rusty orange to yellow-brown.
Remove spent flower spikes.
