Small succulent plant with prolific pink starry flowers in summer
Anacampseros lanceolata (Spear-leaved Anacampseros). Species with fat green to deep-green lance- shaped succulent leaves occurring in distinctive basal rosettes to form a low clump or mat up to 15cm in height.
The plant has bell-shaped rose-purple flowers that appear in sun in the late afternoon in late spring/early summer. These are carried on fat stems up to 8cm long and sometimes up to 5cm in diameter.
Anacampseros grow well in partial sunlight. Bright light enhances their leaf colour and helps keep them compact. They appreciate gritty free-draining soil with added organic material and low to moderate watering to avoid rot.
