Boykinia genus. This is a North American and Japanese genus; it has about 9 species of mound-forming woodland and alpine perennials. These plants will spread by creeping rhizomes. They have lobed and toothed, roughly heart- or kidney-shaped hairy leaves; the size will vary depending on the species. They will produce panicles of small, 5-petalled, white, cream or reddish flowers which open through spring or summer.
