Yellow onion, Small yellow onion, yellow flowered garlic
Allium flavum (Yellow onion). This species is a small, clump-forming variety with narrow, grey-green, cylindrical leaves. In the summer it bears small loose umbels of sweetly scented, lemony yellow (often tinged with red, green or brown) bell-shaped flowers which appear on 20 cm high stems.
They are fully to frost hardy, and will require an open, sunny situation with well drained soil. If left undisturbed a clump can be formed. Plant at a depth of approximately 12cm.
