This lovely European variety has white flowers with a blue rim, held in open spikes on branching stems, with up to thirty flowers on the plant. The glossy dark green leaves emerge in early spring and continue to look good all year. Performs best in a moist soil in the middle of an herbaceous border, or in open woodland. Grown organically in peat free compost and supplied in a 1.5 litre pot.
Purple Wolf's Bane 'Bicolor'
Aconitum cammarum ‘'Bicolor'’ (Purple Wolf's Bane 'Bicolor'). Also known as Aconitum carmichaelii 'Bicolor', Aconitum napellus 'Bicolor', Aconitum × bicolor, and Aconitum × stoerckianum. This cultivar bears panicles of blue to white flowers on arching branches of dark green foliage. It will grow to about 1.2m tall.
They are fully hardy and will prefer sun, but will tolerate some shade and this may enhance the flower colour. Best grown in moist fertile soil in cool conditions. Tall aconites may need staking.
