Rumex scutatus (French sorrel). This is a low growing perennial. It is grown mainly to be used in salads or soups with its distinctive flavour. The leaves are oval-shaped and pale green, and the flowers are yellow-red.


They will thrive in full sun with moderately fertile, well-drained soil. You can propagate from seeds which should be sown in spring or by division in autumn.
