Grower Notes

These are all 3/4 year old seedlings and have spent all their time unprotected outside.
Approx 20 available and all or a group planting would look great in time if someone had the foresight/patience. Although slow growing these will grow away much better if planted directly in their position.
Very windy conditions and not the cold is this plants worst enemy as the fans get damage on mature plants if sited in too exposed a position

Trachycarpus fortunei (Chinese windmill palm). This species of palm reaches about 9m tall, with leaves held on long stalks which are dark green above and blue-green below. The flowers are dense, showy clusters of small yellow flowers which precede the marble-sized, dark blue berries.


They will adapt to any free-draining soil in partial-shade or full sun. You will need to protection from cold winds. Watch out, it is suckering.
