A fine semi-evergreen, arching, medium sized shrub, with dark glossy green leaves, making an ideal contrast to the fragrant, white tinged, pale pink flowers produced over a long period from June to October.
Abelia × grandiflora (Glossy abelia). This species is probably the most popular and hardiest member of the Abelia family. It is evergreen to semi-evergreen and may be used as a pruned or unpruned hedge. It will bear profuse, fragrant, bell-shaped white flowers, tinged with pink from mid-spring to mid-autumn. The leaves are particularly glossy.
You can grow it in well-drained clay soil which is semi-moist.
