Ajuga reptans ‘Catlin's Giant’ (Bugleweed). This popular cultivar, also known as Ajuga reptans 'Macrophylla' has very large, dark bronze-purple leaves which grow up to 15 cm long. Dark blue flowers are borne in spike-like whorls up to 30cms high.
Grow in a sheltered position. Grow in partial shade or shade to avoid scorching of the leaves.
Grown for year round foliage interest as well as for flowers which are attractive to bees. Useful for path and border edging, as ground cover in shady areas as well as in containers.
