Dianthus deltoides ‘Flashing Light’ (Maiden pink). An evergreen, carpet-forming perennial with a profusion of small, flat, bright pink-red flowers grown singly with tiny, pointed, oblong, mid-green leaves.
They are fully to half hardy, and will need an open sunny position with well drained slightly alkaline soil. The tall species of carnations and pinks have a loose habit and will need staking. Dead-heading of repeat-flowering types is beneficial.
