These were raised from self sown seedlings
Geranium palmatum. This species is a bushy perennial, the leaves are quite large and medium green in colour. The flowers are pink-purple and saucer shaped they are produced on tall panicles throughout the summer.
They are fully to half hardy. Most species will prefer sun, but some do better in the shade. They will grow in any but waterlogged soil. Outdoors, grow larger species and hybrids in any moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Grow small species and hybrids in humus-rich, sharply drained soil in full sun. Under glass, grow half hardy species in loam-based potting compost with added sharp sand, in bright filtered light. During the growing season, water freely and apply a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly. Water sparingly in winter.
Grown for their attractive flowers and often as ground cover. Compact species are suitable for rock gardens. Suitable for coastal conditions.
