Brook thistle, Thistle
Cirsium rivulare ‘Atropurpureum’ (Brook thistle). In the summer, dark red flowers appear on erect stems. Bears narrowly oval to oblong or lance-shaped leaves which are deeply cut, with weakly spiny margins.
Dead-head to prevent self-seeding. They are fully hardy and will tolerate sun or shade in any but wet soil.
Grown for its decorative flower heads.
