Common names

Grape hyacinth


Muscari armeniacum (Grape hyacinth). The flowers will appear in spikes in early spring they are densely covered with lavender-blue blooms that look like tiny grapes or blueberries.


They are frost hardy and prefer cool areas. They grow well in clumps and will need rich, well-drained soil. You should plant the bulb to a depth of 5ins in autumn in a sunny or partial-shaded position, but protect from hot sun in warm areas.
