Description

Acacia cyclops (Rooikrans). This plant is adapted to windy, coastal conditions and is dense and dome-shaped as a result. It has phyllodes rather than true leaves, which are glaucus. Flowers are bright yellow clusters of ball shaped blooms which are produced in small numbers over a long flowering period. When the seed pods open in early spring, the central seed is black, with a curved yellow-orange stalk and the effect is of a bloodshot eye.
