Jacaranda genus. This genus has about 50 species of medium-sized to large deciduous and evergreen trees. They have fern-like bipinnate leaves and bell-shaped flowers which may be white, purple or mauve-blue. They are frost tender, min 7-10C, and will grow in any fertile, well drained soil with full light.

Potted plants grown for their foliage only may be cut back hard in late winter.
Propagation is by seeds in the spring or by semi-ripe cuttings in the summer.
