Description

Jasminum genus (Jasmine). There are about 200 deciduous, semi-evergreen and evergreen shrubs and vines. The leaves are usually compound with white or more rarely yellow fragrant flowers. They are fully hardy to frost tender, min 7-18C. They will require full sun and fertile, well drained soil.

Interest and use

Grown for their often fragrant flowers and foliage. Suitable for coastal conditions.

Cultivation

J.nudiflorum, which is not self-supporting, benefits from having old shoots thinned out after flowering; prune others as required after flowering.

Semi-ripe cuttings in summer or layer in Autumn.
