Juglans genus (Walnut). These are deciduous trees which are grown for their handsome form and elegant, aromatic foliage. All the species will bear edible nuts. They will produce greenish-yellow catkins in the spring and early summer. They are fully hardy but the young plants are prone to frost damage. They will require full sun and deep, fertile, well drained soil.

Grown for their foliage, stately habit and, in some species, edible nuts (walnuts).
Propagation is by seeds when ripe in the autumn.
Aphids, blister mites, honey fungus and leaf spot may cause problems.
