Description

Juglans ailantifolia (Heartnut). This species will grow to 15m and has grey-brown bark and large hairy, toothed, dark green leaves. The catkins produced are greenish. The husk is poisonous and is traditionally used in Japan to catch fish. The nuts are edible and the wood is used for carving.
