Description

Juglans regia (Common walnut). This variety will produce an upright spreading deciduous slow-growing tree. It will grow to about 25m tall and a spread of about 12m. It has a sturdy trunk with a broad leafy canopy with smooth pale grey bark. The leaves are purplish bronze when young maturing to a mid-green. The flowers are yellow-green and borne in catkins in late spring to early summer; they are followed by edible nuts.
