Kohleria genus. They genus will consists of about 50 species of rhizome-forming perennials. The flowers are tubular and usually felty, pendulous, single or in clusters; they are produced in a large array of bright colours. The plant including the flowers are covered in bristles. They are frost tender, min 15C, and will grow in moist but well drained soil with full sun or semi-shade. You should water sparingly in the winter; over-watering will cause the rhizomes to rot. Propagation in the spring is by division of the rhizomes or by seeds if available.
