Description

Lathraea genus (Toothwort). There are about 7 species of herbs and shrubs. The fleshy ivory to mauve leaves are borne in 4 rows on subterranean rhizomes. The flowers are fleshy and borne on stems that arising from the rhizome. You should grow in shade with moist conditions, you can propagate by seeds in late summer.

They are frost-hardy plants, they grow in moist but well-drained soil. Roots resent being disturbed. Mulch with leaf mould in Autumn.
