Amaryllis genus (Belladonna lily). This is a genus of two South African species: Amaryllis belladonna and
Amaryllis paradisicola.

They both have strap-shaped green leaves and umbels of large funnel-shaped flowers in pink or white with three outer tepals and three inner petals.

This plant is often confused with what is usually sold in the shops as 'Amaryllis' around Christmas time in the UK, but is actually Hippeastrum.
