Ledebouria genus. There are about 16 species of bulbs in this genus, the leaves are narrowly lance-shaped and about 38cm long. The foliage is the most attractive part of the plant. The flowers appear in late summer, they are tiny but massed in racemes of up to 150 blooms. They are usually grey or green with pink or purple markings.

Grown for its flowers and makes good pot plants in cool greenhouses.
They need gritty, well-drained soil, with a position in the full sun. You can propagate from seeds or by division of established clumps.
