Description

Lilium hansonii (Lily). This species produces tall stem which carry up to 12 pendulous orange flowers, they are spotted with brown. The leaves are produced in whorls.

Cultivation

They will need good drainage. Some prefer alkaline soil, others will not tolerate it. They all prefer the sun, but make sure the roots are deep to keep them cool. They can be propagated by means of offsets from the main bulb or seeds.

Seed in autumn or spring, by bulb scales in summer or by stem bulbs (where present) in autumn.
