Lindera genus (Feverbush). This genus consists of about 80 species of evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs, they are deciduous and are valued for their aromatic and autumn foliage. The leaves are variable and often lobed. The flowers are male and female, they bloom in yellow and are borne in early spring. The fruits are produced on female plants if male plants are also grown.

They are fully to frost hardy and will need semi-shade and moist acidic humus-rich soil. Though tolerant of extreme cold, they grow well if protected from late spring frosts.
