Description

Acacia nigrescens (Knob thorn). This species of tree will produce elliptical medium green leaves. The bark is green-brown and rather bumpy.

C S America, Kenya, Polynesia and Australia

The name Acacia comes from the Greek 'akazo' - I sharpen. Many of the species have sharp spines.

Cultivation

When grown under glass grow in a loam-based compost with full light. When grown outdoors grow in a moderately fertile soil with full sun and a little shelter.
