Mertensia genus. There are about 50 species of herbaceous perennials. The foliage is usually lanceolate and hairy. They produce terminal panicles of tubular flowers, usually blue in the spring.
Grown for their funnel-shaped flowers.
They all prefer full sun and moisture-retentive soil. They are fully hardy, and will require sun or shade with deep well drained soil.
You can propagate by division in the spring or by seed in the autumn.
