Description

Nandina domestica (Heavenly bamboo). This is a versatile shrub providing all year-round interest. The leaves are a bronzy-pink, and turn light green, then to bronze and crimson in the autumn. The flowers are white and bloom in clusters in mid summer, followed by red berries.

Cultivation

It is frost hardy and prefers a sheltered, sunny site with fertile, well drained but not too dry soil. On established plants, prune untidy, old stems to base in spring.
