Acaena genus (Bidi-bidi). Mainly summer-flowering sub-shrubs and perennials, most are evergreen, in all but the severest winters. They have tight rounded heads of small flowers, the flowers being followed by small dry fruits which have barbed hooks on them which will cling to clothes. They are good for a rock garden but some species may be invasive. Fully to frost hardy, they need sun or partial shade and well drained soil.
