Nymphoides genus (Floating heart). There are about 20 species of rhizomatous, aquatic perennials in this genus, the leaves are oval, round or kidney-shaped with wavy-edges, the leaves will float on the surface. The foliage is slightly glossy and olive green, occasionally purple mottled. The flowers will bloom in white or yellow, they appear in summer and are held just above the foliage.
Grown for their flowers.
They are fully hardy to frost tender, with minimum temperature of 5C, and will require an open sunny position. You will need to plant in full or half-day sun.
You can propagate by dividing the rootstock in late winter or early spring.
