Description

Ocimum genus (Basil). There are about 35 species of frost-tender annuals, perennials and shrubs. They produce aromatic leaves, which are used for medicinal purposes or to flavour salads, soups, sauces. They have mostly oval leaves in opposite pairs with small tubular flowers which are borne in whorls towards the ends of the stems in late summer.

Cultivation

You will need to grow in a protected, warm, sunny position in moist but well-drained soil. You must protect from late frosts.
