Description

Oxalis acetosella f. alba form (Shamrock). This perennial has a creeping prostrate habit. The flowers are nodding white blooms with purple veins in the spring and early summer. This plant is often found in the wild in Northern Europe. STEM: Flowering stem upright. ROOT: Fibrous from slender, scaly, underground stem. HAIRS: Sparse, pressed to surface. STIPULES: Absent LEAF-STALK: 5-15cm BRACTS: 2, small, at middle of stem. FLOWER STALK: Longer than flower. SEPALS: 5, equal, oblong. PETALS: 5, equal, notched. STAMENS: 10, 2 rings of 5. STIGMA: 5 OVARY: 1, 1-celled. SEEDS: Many, egg-shaped, ridged, with fleshy coat.
