Description

Pachystachys genus (Mountain spurge). This genus has about 12 species of evergreen perennials and small shrubs, They are upright growers with large, bright green leaves and yellow floral bracts, the flowers are small white and tubular. They are Frost tender, min 13-18C and will need partial shade and fertile, well drained soil.

Grown for their flowers.

Cultivation

They will require frost-free conditions with full sun and fertile, moist but well-drained soil. You can propagate from seed or cuttings. Cut back flowered stems in late winter to maintain a bushy habit.

Propagation

Cuttings in early summer.

Pests, diseases or disorders

Whitefly and red spider mite may cause problems under glass.
