Description

Paeonia mlokosewitschii (Molly the witch peony). This species will produce large open, pale to bright yellow flowers and soft green leaves that have hairy undersides. This upright herbaceous perennial, grows to a height and spread of 75cm.

Cultivation

They will grow well in climates with a cold winter. They need a sheltered position in full or slightly filtered sunlight and moist soil. You will need to propagate from seed, or by division.

Propagation

Propagate by seed in autumn (may take up to 3 years to germinate), tuberous species by root cuttings in winter, tree peonies by semi-ripe cuttings in late summer or by grafting in winter. Perennials may also be propagated by division in autumn or early spring.

Pests, diseases or disorders

They are susceptible to peony wilt, honey fungus, grey mould.
