Description

Parnassia genus (Grass of Parnassus). This genus consists of about 15 species of short tufted, summer-flowering perennials, It will produce rosettes of heart-shaped leaves on long stalks. The summer flowers are saucer-shaped and have 5-petals. They are fully hardy and will need full sun with moist soil.

Saucer-shaped flowers, suitable for rock gardens.

Cultivation

Plant in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part-shade and do not allow to become dry in summer. Some species are very difficult to cultivate and will only grow well in naturally damp, grassy meadows or damp, peat soil. All species are very hardy.

Propagation

Propagate by seed in autumn, or by division of established clumps.
