Pentas genus. This genus consists of about 40 species of evergreens, biennials, perennials and subshrubs. The leaves are sometimes hairy and mid green in colour they are either lance to ovate-shaped. The flowers are produced in corymbs of small star-shaped flowers they bloom in white or shades of pink, red and purple.

You will need to plant them in moist, well-drained soil with full sun or partial-shade. To encourage bloom and growth, pinch back regularly, remember to deadhead and trim lightly in early spring. May be hard pruned in winter.
You can propagate from seed in spring or from softwood cuttings in summer.
Prone to whitefly, aphids and red spider mites.
