Description

Aporocactus genus (Rat's tail cactus). This is a perennial cacti with stems which can grow up to 1.5m long and pink-red tubular flowers. After blooming they produce small reddish fruits.

Interest and use

Grown for the pendant, slender, fleshy stems and bright flowers. Good for hanging baskets.

Cultivation

These plants need a minimum temperature of 5C. Suitable for partial shade and very well drained soil.

Propagation

Propagate by stem cuttings in spring or summer.
