Description

Phaseolus coccineus (Runner bean). This is a half-hardy annual, it will produce tall twining climbers, they are grown for their brilliant red flowering clusters which bloom in the summer, as well as their beans.

Cultivation

They will need plenty of sunlight and ample moisture. They prefer a humus-rich well-drained soil, well-prepared and enriched with compost or rotted manure. Harvesting may start in late summer and end in mid autumn. Fairly easy to grow.
