Phytolacca genus (Pokeweed). There are about 25 species in this genus, they can grow about 15m tall. The perennial evergreen trees and shrubs are valued for their general appearance and attractive, though they are often have poisonous rounded berries. The leaves are quite large and have coloured stems, the white flowers are small and are arranged in clusters. They are fully hardy to frost tender, min 5C and will tolerate sun or shade and will require fertile, moist soil. Propagation is by seeds in the autumn or spring.

They will prefer rich soil in a sheltered position in full sun to partial-shade, they will need adequate moisture to grow. You can propagate from seeds in spring or autumn.
