Description

Acanthus hungaricus. Also known as Acanthus balcanus and Acanthus longifolius. This species will produce pinnately divided, narrow leaves. The flowering spikes can grow to 1.5m tall and bear white or pink-flushed flowers, held in red-purple, spiny bracts.

Cultivation

Powdery mildew may be a problem. Also, snails and caterpillars may damage new growth.
