Cultivation
They will grow in a wide range of conditions, they are wind resistant and will thrive on soils of moderate to low fertility which are well drained , you can propagate from seeds or grafting.
Propagation
Seed sown in autumn or spring (but forms selected for leaf colour do not come true). Evergreen current growth cuttings in autumn to spring. Deciduous softwood cuttings in summer.
Pests, diseases or disorders
Honey fungus may be a problem; young plants are more susceptible. Conifer spinning mite may cause defoliation.
