Arctium genus (Burdock). A genus of 10 erect taproot biennials with alternate, spiny leaves which are entire or toothed and cordate at the base. Tubular flowers are purple or white and borne either singly or in clusters. The seed heads are prickly with tiny hooks which stick to feather and fur.
