Podalyria genus. This genus consists of 25 species of evergreen shrubs and small trees. They produce oval leaves which are about 35mm long they are covered with very fine hairs. The flowering bloom in early spring with fragrant clusters of mauve or white sweet-pea flowers open. They are frost tender, min 7-10C, and will require full light and fertile, well drained soil.
Grown for their flowers and overall appearance.
You can plant in light, well-drained soil in full sun. You can propagate from seeds in the spring or cuttings in summer, or by layering. Prune, if necessary, after flowering.
