Description

Ardisia genus (Coral berry). This genus will consist of evergreen shrubs and trees, which are grown for their fruits and foliage. The leaves are mostly toothed and leathery. The flowers are small and star-shaped usually pink to white.

Grown for their fruits and foliage.

Cultivation

They are half hardy to frost tender with a min of 10C. They will need partial shade and humus-rich, well drained but not dry soil. You can water the potted plants freely when in full growth, and moderately at other times. Remember to cut back the old plants in early spring if required.

Propagation

Propagation is by seeds in the spring or by semi-ripe cuttings in the summer.
